A branding project for a my brother and talented golf instructor, Ian Arcellana. He wanted to showcase, not only his elegant, efficient and powerful approach to the game, but my skills as a lettering artist and designer as well. Similar to my pursuits of creativity and experience, his love for this timeless recreation has been a lifelong endeavor thus far. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to assist in propelling him toward his pursuits. If you’re in the East Bay area and have considered learning or elevating your game, please reach out to him for a consultation.

I worked for this incredible brand for about a year before my stint into freelance design. During my time with them, I was primarily responsible for marketing design, product trim assets, and collection identity. It wasn’t till I left, when a former coworker and lead product designer asked for samples of my lettering to grace the front panel of Jordy Smith’s signature Odyssey model. This led to also creating the lettering for the inner liner as well as producing a temporary “John Hancock” for the living legend himself. What an honor! If possible, this is the type of work I’m seeking to develop further in the future.

The John Wayne Grit Series is a trail running event hosted by the John Wayne Cancer Foundation in numerous picturesque locations including Newport Coast (CA), Lone Pine (CA), Pioneertown (CA), Fort Worth (TX), Moab (UT) and Jackson (WY). It is fundraising race with proceeds dedicated to help fight cancer.
I was fortunate enough to be there at the inception of the first event. I’m grateful to have been tasked with creating, not only the branding, but also all corresponding promotional assets including van wrap, tear drop flags, inflatable archway, apparel and nearly all initial promotional assets. The color schemes, illustrative methods, and typographical treatments are still utilized to this day.
It’s an honor to have been a small part of generating graphics, imagery and aesthetics for such a monumental figure and cause.

It is by no means a representation of my political or social affiliations. From my perspective, it was meant to be satirical. I was tasked with a project and I met it with as much creativity afforded me at the time. It’s inclusion on my site is meant to showcase the varied body of work my responsibilities spanned as a solo creative within a small licensing company, absolutely nothing more. How many people can say they created graphics for tees, hats, mugs, pins, bumper stickers and lawn signs in one single initiative?
